HMS Maori Wreck
The HMS Maori, a WWII British destroyer, lies at ~14 metres in Marsamxett Harbour after being sunk by German bombers in 1942. Although only sections of the ship remain, its shallow depth makes it one of Malta’s most accessible wrecks. Divers can explore gun mounts, engine components, and surviving hull plating, now colonised by octopus, cuttlefish, and schools of bream. Visibility varies due to its harbour location, but its sheltered waters make it diveable almost year-round.
