Currents & Tides
The currents in Malta/Gozo are low to moderate: for increased safety, ask your local dive guide about any potential currents before starting a dive. Malta and Gozo have a microtidal regime with a typical tidal range of 0.2–0.4 m, rarely exceeding 0.6 m even at spring tides, resulting in generally weak tidal currents at most dive sites.
